El Socorro Coffee is a highly regarded single family farm just north of Guatemala City. The farm itself is the embodiment of coffee perfection: rolling hills, indigenous plants, and a creek running down the middle. The natural high altitude tropical forest harbors coffee plants that grow underneath the canopy of larger trees. The name “El Socorro” literally means the succor and one can feel the essentialness of cooperation as the farm hands return from year to year to work on this magnificent plot of land high in the Guatemala temperate rain forest.
The coffee itself is characterized primarily by a sweet red apple flavors and balanced acidity that is equally fantastic as espresso or filter coffee.
